2. Dartford Grammar School Admissions
To be eligible for admission to Dartford Grammar School, boys must first pass the Kent Test. The Kent test comprises an 11+ exam provided by GL Assessment and creative writing assignment set by the local authority (Kent County Council).
The GL Assessment exam is divided between two papers that each last approximately 50-60 minutes each. The first paper tests English and maths, the second paper tests verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning.
The creative writing assignment takes place immediately after the GL exam, and lasts around 45 minutes. (Nb. The creative writing exam is only assessed in fringe cases, e.g., when a headteacher wishes to appeal the result of a student that just missed the pass mark).
